PhenoMap — Terms of use
By creating an account you agree to these terms. Please read the privacy notice as well; it covers what happens to your data.
1. What PhenoMap is
A personal, non-commercial, and educational citizen-science project run by Yilun Li for recording plant phenology. It is free, it is not run or endorsed by any institution, and it is provided as it is.
2. No guarantee of availability, and keep your own copies
PhenoMap runs on free service tiers. It may be slow, unavailable, changed or discontinued at any time, without notice. Data may be lost. If your records matter to you, export them regularly — the app provides a CSV export — and keep your own copies of your photographs.
The service is provided without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
3. Your account
You must be 16 or older. One account per person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what is recorded through your account.
The credit name you choose is published and permanent. Choose one you are willing to see attached to your records indefinitely.
4. What you contribute, and the licence you grant
You keep ownership of your photographs and observations.
For records you choose to share, you grant a licence under CC-BY-4.0, which allows anyone to use them, including commercially, provided you are credited by your credit name. This cannot be taken back for copies already made.
You confirm that, for every photograph you upload, you took it or have the right to license it on these terms.
5. What must not be uploaded
- Photographs in which a person is identifiable, unless that person agreed.
- Anything unlawful, abusive, misleading or deliberately falsified.
- Locations of protected, endangered or commercially poached species, where publishing the location could put the plant at risk.
- Records made by trespassing on private property or in breach of site rules.
- Content that infringes anyone else's rights.
Deliberately fabricated observations are the one thing that damages a scientific dataset permanently. Record what you actually saw.
6. Moderation
The lead of your task and the site administrator can see every record in that task and may correct or remove anything. Accounts may be suspended or removed for breaking these terms, and content may be removed without notice where it appears harmful.
7. Ending your use
You may stop at any time and ask for your account and records to be deleted — see section 8 of the privacy notice. Records already published under CC-BY may have been copied by others and cannot be recalled.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yilun Li is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of PhenoMap, including lost data, unavailability, or reliance on anything the service displays — including species suggestions, which are automated, frequently wrong, and never a determination.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
10. Changes
These terms are versioned. If they change materially you will be asked to agree again before continuing to contribute. Questions: phenomap@cpelab.net.

1. 物候志是什么
由 Yilun Li 运营的个人、非商业、教育性公众科学项目，用于记录植物物候。它免费提供，不由任何机构运营或认可，并按现状提供。
2. 不保证可用性，请自行保留副本
物候志运行在免费服务额度上。它可能变慢、不可用、被更改或随时终止，且不另行通知。数据可能丢失。如果你的记录对你重要，请定期导出——应用提供 CSV 导出——并自行保存照片副本。
在法律允许的范围内，本服务不提供任何形式的保证。
3. 你的账户
你必须年满 16 岁。每人一个账户。请妥善保管你的登录信息；通过你的账户所记录的内容由你负责。
你选择的署名是公开且永久的。请选择一个你愿意长期与你的记录相关联的名字。
4. 你所贡献的内容，以及你授予的许可
你保留对自己照片与观测的所有权。
对于你选择分享的记录，你依 CC-BY-4.0 授予许可，允许任何人使用，包括商业使用，前提是以你的署名注明出处。对于已被复制的副本，此授权无法收回。
你确认，对于你上传的每一张照片，你是拍摄者或拥有依本条款授权的权利。
5. 不得上传的内容
- 可辨识出个人的照片，除非该人已同意。
- 任何违法、辱骂、误导或蓄意伪造的内容。
- 受保护、濒危或易遭商业盗采物种的位置，若公开位置可能使该植株面临风险。
- 通过擅闯私人物业或违反场地规定而取得的记录。
- 侵犯他人权利的内容。
蓄意伪造的观测是唯一会对科学数据集造成永久损害的行为。请记录你实际看到的内容。
6. 内容管理
你所在任务的负责人与网站管理员可以看到该任务中的每一条记录，并可更正或移除任何内容。违反本条款的账户可能被暂停或移除；显然有害的内容可能被直接移除，恕不另行通知。
7. 结束使用
你可以随时停止使用，并要求删除你的账户与记录——见隐私声明第 8 节。已依 CC-BY 发布的记录可能已被他人复制，无法收回。
8. 责任
在法律允许的最大范围内，Yilun Li 不对因你使用物候志而产生的任何损失或损害承担责任，包括数据丢失、服务不可用，或依赖本服务所显示的任何内容——包括物种识别建议，该建议由程序自动生成，经常出错，且绝非鉴定结论。
9. 适用法律
本条款受中华人民共和国香港特别行政区法律管辖。
10. 变更
